Insurance, the noun, can mean many things. It is the act, business, or system of insuring. It is the coverage by a contract binding a party to indemnify another against a loss. Insure, the verb, means to promise, commit oneself, pledge one's word, and engage. As your Knights of Columbus Insurance Advisor, I take these definitions very seriously. In 1968 I took my degrees with the Knights of Columbus at the urging of my father, Frank Viscardi, who was an insurance representative for the Knights of Columbus at this time. In 1974, shortly after graduating from the University of Baltimore, I entered into the life Insurance business. When my father retired from the Knights in 1987 I was fortunate enough to combine my love for the business of insuring someone against a loss and committing myself to the fraternal workings of the Order.

I take great pride in having been awarded The Agent of the Year Award in Baltimore four times. To me, these were very special because you cannot be the best in anything without staying ahead in your field and gaining the trust and respect of your clients. In 1996, after three years of study, I earned both the prestigious CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) Certification and ChFC, which is the Chartered Financial Consultant designation. I felt this was necessary to insure that I was providing you with the best possible service and advice and would be better qualified to continue carrying out this responsibility. On the personal side, I have also solidified my commitment to the Knights of Columbus by starting a First Degree Team at Patapsco Council and have become engaged in the Degree by taking on the role of Chancellor.

As your Knights of Columbus Insurance Advisor I promise to be there, in the comfortable surroundings of your home, to provide advice to those left behind by the death of a loved one.
