Join us in hearing Jessie Thomas-Blate from American Rivers discuss the history of the Bloede Dam and the outcomes of its removal in 2018.

Jessie will be speaking about historic dams along the Patapsco and the removal of the Bloede Dam. She will also explore what kind of big-picture results the Patapsco has seen since the removal of the dam. Come learn about this intersection of history and the environment!

This talk will be held in the Patapsco Room of the Miller Branch Library. Registration is encouraged, but not required.

Jessie Thomas-Blate is a Director of River Restoration at American Rivers, an organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of rivers for people and nature. Based out of Alexandria, VA, Jessie focuses on river restoration, primarily through the practice of dam removal. She has been a restoration practitioner for ten years, working throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including on the Patapsco River through the Bloede Dam removal project.
